These suppossedly are legitimate legal 110's
Global Motor Sports is quite a large and reputable outfit here in Nashville.

He shows a legal Massachusetts title in the listings.

The only 110 listed on the DOT's "good list" meaning that through the right channels you could import one, is the 1993 LHD 110.

The list of "importable" cars is right on the DOT/NHTSA web site.

Wonder how they did that...

Aren't they legal, as long as you never put them on a paved road? Or to be clear, they must be operated on private property only.

What's up with the 97 Defender 90's that are listed under vehicles that are exempted and can "possibly" be imported:

What do you mean "whats up" with it. It quite simply means that DOT have assigned it a "VSP" eligibility based on a petition from an importer (only manufacturers and "Registered Importers" may do this). I'm confident that whoever brought in the j-spec trucks filed the petition.

A petition for a VSP number is based on the degree of similarity to a model already sold in the states. This similarity is with respect to crashworthiness and technical specification (i.e. types of headlights, presence of side markers, kph/mph speedo etc.). Once someone has jumped through the hoops of showing that a vehicle is similar enough to a US spec version to be successfully modified, then the DOT will assign an eligibility number. After all this you must still get the vehicle past the EPA, which is another nut roll entirely.
