1997 D90 Starting Problems
I apologize if this has been covered before. I tried to search forum and couldn't find my problem specifically.
I am having trouble starting my D90. It will turn over, but won't start. If I hold the key in the start position it will not turn over without starting sometimes and other times won't turn over. A local mechanic who is fairly knowledgeable about these vehicles has tried to help me. He has replaced the ignition switch and the neutral safety switch. He thinks it might be a problem with the steering column lock. I took it out and believe that it is functioning properly. Of note, I did take out the factory amplifier under the passenger seat and wonder if some of the wiring associated with the ECM might be the problem. I also was curious about the engine immobilization circuit and whether that could be the problem.
I think I need to check the fuel pump to see if that is getting power. Any other help I can get is greatly appreciated.
