1997 D90 Radio

Hey all,

I put a new battery in my 97 90, and since my radio has not been working. I have disconnected the battery half a dozen times, I have left the key in the first position for many hours trying to get the code light to even come on.

Any other suggestions on how to reset this damn thing so I can enter the code?

You can send it to Roverville. He has a way of figuring out the code. He doesn't use email so its a little painful communicating with him at times.

I think the guy at Roverville is an absolute ass !!
I'd put my money towards a Jensen head, waterproof/dustproof.

yeah, I agree, he's a special person. others hear have said they've had good experiences but mine was less than expected. i still feel he mixed up my head with another. I asked if that was a possibility and he stopped taking my calls. Ha!

If I can borrow the thread for a minute, I also replaced my battery and can't remember the factory code. I did a quick search and others have suggested calling a local dealer, but considering the local dealer didn't give me the time of day the one time I stopped by I am hoping that there is another solution. Thanks for your help.

max call the service dept and ask them. it should be easy enough to find with the VIN.
or
call the shop you are taking it to now and have them call the dealership. send them a coffee gift-card when they do it for you.

When you get the code, write it on the radio body with a Sharpie.

Great Idea!
I got the number from the old owner and the dealership but it doesn't work. Unless I am missing a step after entering it.
I am going to take the radio out and try the following website I found. https://www.radio-code.co.uk/radio-removal.html

This is when mine stopped working. I replaced the battery and it completely reset it. Spoke with the old owner and he mentioned he had used the code he gave me at one time and it didn't work for him.

I am hoping by pulling the radio and getting the 14 digit serial number and using https://www.radio-code.co.uk/ that it will work!

Let it run for an hour and then enter the code.
