1995 D90 - Found an electrical fault - now what?
Posted earlier regarding a chronically draining battery and got some great tips - thanks to all who replied.
I figured that since the battery drains while the car is off there must be drain somewhere. I bought a new battery, pulled out all the fuses and connected positive battery terminal and then a connected a 12V circuit tester to the ground cable and then touched the other end of the tester to the negative pole of the battery. No light came on.
Then started reinserting the fuses.... bottom line, there was current draw when I inserted the 15A fuse into position "2" (hazards) even with the car off. This was the only circuit that drew current.
I really know very little about cars and wiring, but my assumption now is that there must be a fault in the wiring for the hazards allowing current to drain...
1. as that a valid / logical assumption?
2. where do I look for it (best approach?) / how do I fix it! (wiring diagrams, anyone?)
