1994 D90 Wont Start !

Looking for a little help, changed 6/8 plugs, cap rotor and wires last week, started fine..Today did the remaining 2 plugs and straightened out the wires. Then i replaced the old Interior light and bulb with a brand new one. Started her up ran for a couple of seconds then cut out .... kept trying to turn over ...nothing ...
When i go to start it it seems to have a clicking noise comming from the inetrior fuse box.. i checked these fuses all good.. except there is a purple wire with a inline fuse that is disconnected and the fuse is missing ?

Not sure if its getting fuel ..or no spark..
also i was looking at the large fuses under the hood by the firewall...had a hard time removing them to check..
Hope its something simple ..Thanks in advance for any and all help Tom

Check to see if you are getting fuel then check for spark. I just replaced my dizzy ( was cheaper to replace then just the module) as the module went bad, I had no spark.

The purple wires are not suppose to go to anything (mine don't.)
When you turn the key you get only the clicking sound with the engine not cranking?
That could be the starter which is under the interior fuse box not getting enough juice or is bad.
If its cranking and not firing, listen for the fuel pump buzz as you turn the key to ignition position.
Others with more know-how will likely be more helpful, but thought I'd chime in with My $.02 until then.

If it clicks but doesn't turn over then it's starter Solonoid you car hear. Hit starter motor with hammer ( once) to disengage. Then try starting it again.

What bulb did you replace? Was it a dash light? If so, you could have knocked one of the wires off the ignition.

Check to be sure you did not knock any of the white wires going to the coil. You should hear the fuel pump run for a few seconds when you turn the key to on.

Since it started and ran, I don't suspect anything under the hood. My suspicions lie in the fuel pump or its associated solenoid. The solenoid is an easy fix, but again it did run and then died, so I don't really think its that either. Most likely the fuel pump.
However, let's just try a couple things first. Be sure the connector on the ignition amplifier is on properly, the main high tension lead from coil to cap is seated both ends, and the MAS connector plug is on as well. As noted above, listen for the fuel pump when you turn the key to ON, not START. If that means getting your ear under the truck while a helper turns the key, then do that. No hum from the pump means you have a dead pump.

Was it running fine before you replaced the wires? Any other issues?
Did you replace the wires one at a time or pull them all out at once?

I have heard bad relays click. Leif basically said this, but If this were me I'd do this first - turn the key from off to the run position. You should hear the fuel pump come in for a few seconds then go off. If you hear clicking instead, then you need a new relay. If you are getting fuel, then it's time to check for spark and troubleshoot the electrical side.

No start

Update- I pulled the wire from the coil to the distb and no spark when cranking - put the wire back and pulled wire from spark plug -cranked it no spark - ---could it be something else than a bad coil ? Thanks Tom

$10 says nothing is broken... you've just dislodged something.

the longer this thread goes on the more guesses you will have and the less diagnosis will happen. Eventually someone will guess correctly and you'll be working again.

so you've established a fact ... you have no spark from the coil. Working backwards from this you figure out what generates that spark. You need a low voltage connection on the coil for a spark and also this generates the signal to the ECU that the engine is cranking to turn on the fuel pump to keep feeding the fuel rail.

Do you have a low voltage going into the coil?

If you by accident knock a wire loose from the coil, it wont start. There a three or four wires that connect to the coil besides the one going to the cap.
