1991 Defender Sunroof

Morning,

I have a 1991 Defender 200tdi. My sunroof latch is broke. The Part number STC 747. I can't find it anywhere new or used. I have been told that twist style handle will work if I replace everything? I believe its part number LR 045412.Looking for guidance and parts.

Regards,
Josh

Josh:
a few tips:
Some of the Discos had a mechanical sun roof that used the same latch mechanism.
Since you didn't supply a picture, I think you are referring to the piece that props the roof open in a few positions and completely releases to lift the top glass shield out.

You can sometimes find a whole unit for sale reasonable on eBay UK if you are unable to get an exact replacement assuming the part is NOS. Then if the seller is cooperative, they could just remove the piece(s) you want and ship to you.

Good Luck.

Thank you

Thank you. I have been told that land Rover only made two styles of Headliners. one with sunroof and one without. So the twist style should fit.

Sunroof Latch

I am looking for the same latch. I thought the twist style might work, but I am not sure how it actually works compared to the latch style and if it opens more or less.

Try these guys. tasc-auto car products for sales They supplied the OEM parts for NAS D90 sunroofs, and had the replacement bits for my vehicle. * Called them and they seem to have a very large supply of parts.

sunroof latch

had my sunroof sealed as it leaked something awful, finally got around to putting in the new seal the other day. Unfortunately when doing so, I broke the latch, same as one shown in the picture above. Any luck finding one?

Looked on the attached link and they show out of stock . . . anyone know if the twist style will work as a substitute?

thanks,

Mike

Will this part STC982 bolt on in place of the latch type mechanism? What about the fixed piece it locks on to?
