1984 D90 or D110 refurb to 2006 spec

Hi Guys,

I have an opportunity to import 2006 Land Rover Defender 90's or 110's into the U.S, built on a restored, galvanized '84 chassis. Full 06 interior, dash, seats, running gear etc, fully road legal. Half Leather Interior. All Genuine Land Rover Accessories. Left Hand Drive.

It can be imported with a TD5 engine or a Range Rover V8 (p38). The TD5 will have less than 25,000 miles, or the V8 will be completely rebuilt prior to being fitted in the defender. The TD5 come with a manual transmission, and the V8 comes with the Range Rover Auto.

The vehicles will come with all invoices for the rebuild, and photographic proof. Also, as they are technically 25 years old, no sales tax is required.

Defender 90's - around $35,000
Defender 110's - around $45,000

I would also very much like some feed back on this idea, if you where to buy one what would you expect it to have accessories wise? What colors do you like? Would you welcome a TD5 or prefer the TDi? Does the price seem realistic?

Please see the images below for an example of what the car could look like

Lots of good info available on this site using the search function and reading the sticky threads. There is also no shortage of opinions and facts out there related to this sort of thing.

Subliminal synopsis of original post:

I am new to rovers but have read the Brit mags and I think I am the first person to figure out how to make a killing selling overseas junk to you folks that are not nearly as smart as I am. Since I am new to this please present yourselves for my benefit because I assume this is going to be easy, and oh yeah these are not gray market vehicles, they are totally legit in all 50 states because my buddy in the UK said so.

Pardon the cynicysm but we have seen this one before and launching your new side biz in post number 1 gives it all away.
