140amp alterantor from rover connection - ROCKS!

I just put in a replacement alt from Rover Connection - it's a 140 amp model and it's a direct bolt in except for a bit of grinding down on one of the tabs. Much quieter than the old one and 140 amps!

Great!

Hmm they list it for 87 to 92 RRC, I don't think it will work with Defenders, I think maybe something to do with the tach output or the way it mounts?

Rover Connection site states;
Defender

YLE10100R Defender 3.9L(93~95) $220* remanufactured 100 amp
AMR4247R Defender 4.0 (97) $210* remanufactured 100 amp
AMR4247A Defender 4.0 (97) $295 Brand New High Output 120 amp (no core charge required)

I don't see any 140 amps listed.

He's talking about the one for the Range Rover

STC1753A Range Rover Classic (87~92):
factory 80 amp: not available
105 amp $170 Brand NEW (no core charge required, 2 year warranty)
140 amp $200 Brand NEW (no core charge required, 2 year warranty

I think he thought that it might work for the defender but I don't think it will for some reason otherwise I think they would list it for defenders.
