110 window sides mounts?

Hey all.

So I am trying to install the window sides on the 110 project and I am a bit stumped.

Can someone explain to me how they attach to the body? The photos attached will hopefully explain.

The one image from project Zambesi shows the final product but I can not see what is in between the roof side and the capping, shown by white arrow pic number 1. The other image shows what my 90 had so I just replicated that thinking all would be good. However when I go to suck it down at the rear corner it bottoms out on the big round "nut"(shown by white arrow) before the seal has a chance to suck down and seal. Is a 90 hardtop different from a 110 in this area?

Anyone working on a truck right now that has all the hardware installed but no window sides on that can take a photo of what it is supposed to be?

Hope this makes sense.

Thanks for the help.

TYler

You should be able to use a piece of foam tape as a sealer around the tub in-between the sides and the tub. In the corners all that you have to use is a bolt and some thick washers top and bottom. You should have those round holes at the front and at the rear on each side. These are raised areas on the tub molding. I think that is what you are seeing in the picture. You an then make some brackets to help secure the middle. As you tighten everything up make sure you start at one end and work your way to the other. Don't snug it up the first go around but on the second or third go around.

There's a proper thick piece of "land rover rubber" that goes between the side and tub. The bolts squeeze this sort of watertight.

Thanks for the help. I was able to work with it yesterday and all sucked down just fine.

Cool to see the truck being built up not not just stuff happening underneath!

They always seem to progress much faster once you start adding bodywork.
