110 warning light

I had this light just pop on in a 110 (photo attached). The manual says it's "unused" (clearly not). It seems to be some sort of temperature warning light, but the engine temperature is fine (gauge conditioner module has been removed and this light appears when the engine is first started).

I just started trying to track it down, but didn't get far because I can't seem to ID the light...

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks!
Travis

Is it possible that someone in the past took your dash apart, some of the plugs/wires came out from your other warning lights, and were reattached incorrectly?

------ Follow up post added October 13th, 2010 11:18 AM ------

People have also been known to connect warnings to the "ghost" indicator, as needed.

The gearbox temp lamp is not used in a NAS 110 and does not illuminate pre-start up.
Could be a mis-wire from a previous repair, or you might not have a NAS 110.

Looks like a nas 110 based on gauges and light switches. Never noticed that symbol on my dash before

That's because it's blacked out.

Hmm... that thought had crossed my mind... I'm hoping that isn't the case. I don't like hacks. All systems look good, though.

Thanks! I was wondering if that's what this light indeed was.

This is an NAS 110, but has been heavily modified, so all bets are off. It isn't mine - I just got it running (fuel pump replacement... doesn't even register on the fun scale). I guess it's time to start digging...

Thanks again!

Travis

Trace the wire that leads to that light and tell me the color. Then I can tell you what it is supposed to be doing.
