110 SW rear door: color/hinge

Happy New Year everyone! A few questions for you:

1. Any reason why a rear SW door from a 73 Series III 88" not fit on an 83 110? My 73 is in better shape than
my 83. One problem, the 73 has 2 hinges and the 83 has 3.

2. Should the rear door color for an 83 110 match the bottom half of the truck or should it match the almond
hardtop? It's been so long I cannot remember what the original paint job looks like. Thanks

I don't think the color should be half (color of body) and half (color of roof). I only saw that once a series truck and I'm not sure it was genuine. The series door has two hinges and the 110 has three. I think the two hinges on the series line up with the one on the 110. If so, perhaps drill the other one and you're done!

Yeah I don't think so either, just can't remember which is the original color scheme. I think it is suppose to match the body.

Body colour and the earlier door will bolt straight in. don't worry about the middle hinge unless you hang a spare wheel on the door

I don't wanna be "that guy" Mike, but, I suggest you put the third one as it was already a problem on series truck. It's no hard work to do it then you shall forget about it!

It'll last if you don't hang a spare wheel off the door, if you do then I agree the door will fall apart in no time especially if you take it on rough tracks.
TD5 doors are a totally different construction and much stronger.
