110 Radio Issue Question

I have a kenwood radio in my 110. During one of my ocd fits, I removed the cubby box to clean under and around it. I noticed in the 110 that the wires going the back of radio come from the normal place (big wire harness coming out the plate under the cubby box) but also there is a bunch of wires coming from the seatbelt wires going into the radio. Is this normal? Did the 110 have a split harness?

The extra cables are probably for seatbelt-warning buzzers, some terratories have to have these on vehicles. Similarly some areas have to have an overspeed warning (connected to the speedo cable) as well.

It's probably easier/cheaper to combine all the extra cables into one loom and then just leave them disconnected.

I have the buzzer cables but I also seem to have some other wires going to the radio.

Mike answered me if anyone else is curious

That is correct. The 110 has the speaker output wires near the rear of the cubby box and the rest of the wires (power, ground, etc) near the front.
You will see the wires in the back bundle are all black with a colored stripe. That denotes what speaker the wires go to.

The 110 stock radio setup (OEM) has an amplifier in addition to the radio. The front speakers are connected directly to the radio and the rear speakers to the amplifier, with intermediate wiring from the radio to the amplifier. This adds another dimension to the wiring, the harness connections, etc. If you have access to a shop manual/wiring diagram you might want to check it out to add some clarity to a visually confusing setup. However, be careful of the wiring diagram color coding from the manual versus reality. From memory I think I found some differences (but thats from memory and several years ago as well).
