I have come across quite a few paint threads with all the usual paint color favorites - Bonnatti Grey, Willow Green... Etc but what about paint colors with galvy cappings/bulkhead? I have seen pictures of a Zambezi Silver 110 with galvy and it looked killer but what about other ideas? My initial gut tells me that series esque colors would look best - something like Keswick Green. Anyone have pictures/ideas as I am getting to the point that I have to pick a color for my 110 and I want to keep the galvanized pieces unpainted. Any pictures or ideas would be much appreciated! Vic

I did mine in pastel green. Was the factory color... But it came out nice with the galvanized parts exposed. I dont like em against darker colors. Youd think theyd go great with dark green... But... Not my taste

Keswick is a great color, although I choose Trident Green and kept the galvy. Depending upon the paint system you use, some colrs may not be available. My painter strongly reccomended PPG Concept. Frankly I think those who paint their galvy bits are nuts.

Yea galvanized covered in paint doesnt make sense...

I have no problem getting any color i want. If they dont have it in their computer, i usually can find the formula online. Many manufacturers shared paint, re used under different names etc... Just have to donsome research. I always used to use martin senour paint from a napa auto finish store. Was highly economical and came out very nice, easily. One thing i always recomend, though it is obviously subjective... Single stage paints look much better on older vehicles. There was no base clear back "in the day" and i think it looks silly on a resto. But its more uv Resistant than an enamel. Prime... Zap zap ... Done.

I just did Pastel a Green on a pristine IIa, single stage as mentioned above. It looks awesome, as it does on 109/110- but I am partial to Arles Blue on a 110. Just me, but I try to utilize a factory color for a given run, ie: Pastel on Series, Arles on Defender.
The main thing is do what you like, and fits your parameters...

Alres is probably 2nd in line behind Keswick at this point - does anyone have a picture of a Arles 110 or 90 with galvy cappings? Would be great to see for reference. My only fear with arles is that I have only seen the color on 90s and for what I have read the color has faded quite a bit. How different is the fresh arles color compared to what you see on NAS trucks?

I run Zermatt Silver with unpainted galvanized cappings and quite frankly it is very difficult to tell the Zermatt Silver apart from the galvanized parts.

Bronze Green looks pretty sharp with exposed galvy and so does Stratos blue.

I think white looks good too. NAS 110 in alpine white with galvy cappings (and bulkhead and t-pieces in my case) I think looks sharp.

The one thing I would avoid is any metallic paint other than something close to the color of the gavly. Metallic looks too modern IMHO contrasted with the galvy.
