110 Diff bolts

I swapped out my 1983 110 front diff for a 24 spline Disco diff, my problem is that a few of the bolts off the axle housing are a bit too short. Any ideas?

On 4 of the bolts there are only about 2 threads sticking through

Swap the studs with the ones from the disco housing.

what Ron said. BTDT. Bit of love with the hammer of your choice will get the studs out of the disco housing. Just make sure you get them in straight when you put them in the new housing or it will be fun getting the diff back in. Don't ask how I know this. No lump hammers/crowbars/pressure treated 2 x 8's or other persuasion tools were harmed during the making of this post...

The whole thing has morphed slowly, I think I will try and get the housing and the Radius arms.

There are several different diff housings. There is and all thick, all thin and even a thick thin. It sounds Like you had the thick thin flange. The four bolts that are too short are the two on each side (3 o'clock and 9 o'clock) right? I just went through this with my diffs. The diff bolts are not special other than the fact that they are studs. If you can get the studs off the disco use them. If not you can get them several places. Call Bill at Great Basin Rovers, and he can probably sell them to you reasonable. He has lots of used ones.

If you put the nut on the stud before you hit it with the hammer you won't tear it up.
