110 and 35's

Anyone running 35's on their 110 and like it?

if yes, what setup (pics!)? If you have and don't like it, why?

Thanks

I have 12.50 35's on my 130. The truck tends to "bounce" on some bumps @ highway speeds due to sidewall flex. I'm running them @ 40 psi. perhaps I should run higher. Hard to hear anything due to tire noise.

Old man emu 764 front springs. stock rear, bilsteins

Are you running the "helper" springs in the rear or just regular LR?

Joshua, being someone who grew up just a few miles from Bernardsville, can we see more pics of your truck already, please? Thanks.

I'm running 35s on my 110 with a 5" lift. It took me a while to work out the kinks, but I think it's perfect now:

3" HD Terrafirma springs.
2" TF spring spacers
Fox remote reservoir shocks
Custom raised rear shock mounts
TF cranked front radius arms
X-Eng rear X-Arms

And of course a change to 4.10 gears.

I had a bouncing issue as my truck is heavy, but the Fox shocks dampen it now.

The inner spring is stock on a 130.

It doesn't add any lift just comes into play on compression. The helper spring is meant to not effect the ride when unladen but when you put 2000 lbs in the back it helps keep the stock coils from collapsing. 130's are rated @ 2500#'s. A base 2013 f150 with a 126 inch wheel base (130's are really 127 inch wheel bases) is a 1700#'s.

Doug and Wolf thanks for your feedback. Doug any pictures? Wolf, why 5 inch and not 3?

Josh, i'll take some photos. As are most of these ROW trucks it is a pile of different vintage land rover parts. BTW I was in Summit the other day and stopped in to see Rolf's collection. He has a couple rust-free d90's in there now. When I introduced myself he said so your thE Josh on D90 source? I was briefly tempted to role with it to see what I could get out of him...

Doug and Wolf - kind of a side question but what is your motor/tranny/Xfer gearing/axle gearing setups? Would a 200tdi/LT77/1.4/4.1 turning 35's be enough power on a 110 (or in Doug's case the 130)?

COPhinest/Josua - I have a 90 with 35's/315/75's if you want pics or possible meet up and see/drive. I was killing myself before buying the 35's so can feel where you are coming from. I bought my 90 from Rolf BTW - didn't know he came onto the D-90 source.

P.S. - Doug and Wolf - those trucks look great BTW!

300 tdi, r380, 1.2 3.54's. Can't use 5th gear till I'm already doing 70. Noy ideal but I'm sick of pulling it apart. Have a 1.4 sitting on the floor ready to go in.

a 1.6 would be perfect for 35's.

doug, awesome truck!

Don, I'm interested in meeting up. I had a '95 D90 with SG III and 35's back 10 years ago and loved it. Although, I was living in Colorado, wheeling every weekend and I didn't have a wife and two kids at the time. I'm still kicking the idea around on the 110 maybe a meetup with just solidify going the 35 route. It doesn't seem like many 110's go with 35's hence me asking the question. Rolf is a really nice guy. I didn't know he was on the forum but I mentioned that I read about his shop here and that is when the "thE Josh" comment came up. I'll shoot you a pm in the next few days.

One of those D-90's Rolf has was mine... A rust free gem. I love that setup on Wolf's 110.

Thanks Doug - 1.6 in the transfer case would you go 4.1 in the axles as well or is that keeping the 3.54s?

I know what you are saying about pulling things apart. When I did my rear Toyota setup I had the 3rds in and out of both axles at least 2x each - good for learning but gets old once you know how to do it, haha.

------ Follow up post added January 21st, 2013 11:51 PM ------

Joshua - thanks - will look out for a pm. I would be stoked to see your 110 as well.

I've got KAM half shafts in my rear Sals, and have been running stock CVs up front for 3 years now - no breakage. I just carry spares in case.
