Where would YOU buy a series 2A Galvanized Chassis?

I see them for sale a lot of different places, but where would you buy one from?

It looks like we are going to build a two at once......my brother seems to think it cool enough for him too!
I have space to do both end to end Im sure to be signing up for a double pain in the ass but ....GO!

RDS, AB, or RN...probably RDS since you're in Alabama, would be easiest on shipping (or pickup if you're feeling ambitious, he's only a couple hundred miles from you).

I have plans to do the galvy swap in my '71 IIA, the problem is that I know once I do it there will be a 1000 other things to tackle and it will end up being off the road for like 2 years. And right now it's just too much fun to drive.

PS - I know RN is the Marslands, I think AB is the Marsland but also may have the Richards as well, and RDS does the Richards.

Like I said...RDS, that's 2 votes based on proximity (plus, all the aforementioned are top-notch operations).

John

So where did you end up getting a chassis from? And was it a Marsland or Richards? Satisfaction level with the quality of the chassis? I'm about 9-12 months away from this myself and am starting to amass parts.

Jason,
I just saw this!

I ended up repairing Everything on mine.
I then sandblasted, acid dipped and galvanized?

Of course, I had to go too far and do this to every possible steel part.
Galvanizing is not very expensive, but it's like an addiction.
You just keep finding more stuff that "needs" to be done.
I even did my dolly.......hand truck not baby doll.

Once we get thru Labor Day weekend and the tourists are one, we can get back to work on this!

I'll go through the paper work on my truck if you would like to see what chassis mine has, Rovers North put a galvy chassis on mine in late 1992, i believe its lived most its life outside in the northeast since then, it still in great shape, other than 1 small scrape the coating hasn't been compromised at all and is solid as it is did when it was put on.

Let me know if you want to know the name.

Well, based on the homework I've done since the above I'm *fairly* certain that Marsland is actually not doing any of the older chassis (ie 88s/109s) and is just in the "coiler" market. So....that said, it seems like most places the Richards is the only choice! Glad to hear it's holding up well though.
