What to check and maintain?

I have had my D90 for over a year now and it has been great (knock on wood). This is a very fun weekend car that gets driven but not that often. I have it no a battery tender and covered when not in use. I am not very technical but wanted to know what things should I be checking on every time I get in it and what things should I be doing maintenance wise to keep it in the best shape possible? Anyone have a mental check list?

Make sure you truck doesn't still have its original oil cooler lines.

Keep track of your oil/fluid changes in a notebook and keep them regular.
Keep your eye on the temp gauge.
Keep your ears alert for any new noises as you use it.
Inspect every now and then underneath looking for new leaks and corrosion. Tackle as you see it.
Squeeze you r coolant hoses feeling for any soft spots.
Keep your tires inflated.

Basic stuff. Enjoy it!!,!!,!

Thanks for the advice. I will do this starting now. I did replace my coolant lines with steel when I first got it, the chance of it bursting in flames sort of prompted that move.

Thanks again,

Michael

check this,

Once a year pull out your rear half shafts and look for deformation, ie twisting or cracking. If any replace. Also get some spares to carry with you. Most people break them pulling away from a stop sign. Roam Offroad has some with a 10 year warranty. Factory reccommends changing the hydraulic fluid every 2 years. You can get rebuild kits for the clutch and brake cylinders or just carry master/slave cylinder spares as they aren't too costly. Carry a bottle of brake fluid with you.
