Stage One Advice/info

Just bought a 1980 stage one with Isuzu 2.8 turbo diesel conversion. Any information on stage ones or the Isuzu motor is greatly appreciated. So far, I'm liking the turbo diesel a lot. Hard to find parts for that motor though!

The truck needs work just like most old land rovers, so I am sorting through some issues. I hope to hook up with David in nova soon to learn more.

Again, I appreciate any info.

Jon P.

Welcome again.

Yea Jon.... I am a hard guy to pin down lately. But..... I am in town this weekend doing this and that. I fly back out on Sunday afternoon (lucky me gets the work assignment that makes you travel on Mother's Day )

Hit me up on e-mail and we can try for another meet up.

(FYI - my truck is sitting really still right now with a bad fuel pump. Parts due soon.)

P.S. - you can not post an intro message on the Forum without suitable photos!!!!!

Thanks

Thanks for the posts. For David, this week-end is pretty ugly with kids sports and Mother's Day. I'll keep in touch, so we can hook up. My preference is to be able to drive it by for a visit, but I have to sort out the brake lights first. Final straw is that I am ordering LEDs from RN tomorrow - I have spent too many hours trying to get the dadgum things to work!

Tony - I look forward to getting together!

I'll try and figure out how to post a pic. I appreciate the welcome, folks. If the turbo diesel ever goes tango uniform, this vehicle might be restored back to its original 3.5L glory...we'll see, but I really like the TD!

Pic Attempt

Okay - here is my attempt at providing a picture. I might also consider removing the plastic on the front to go back to that Stage One look - not sure yet.

Nice truck! It may be hard to find, but I'd try to get a Stage1 grill to replace the plastic one. . It's a real part of the S1 identity, imho..

Well, come to think about it, that plastic grill is kind of smiling at me (i.e., sagging in the middle)...
