Restored II-a color??

As you can see on my website, we are finishing out a very nice late II-a, which was originally Limestone, and my least favorite color. What would you suggest for color?? I am okay with any of the greens, but they are also the most common. Considering Arles Blue, but love Poppy Red. Tan??
Thoughts/guidance??

Thanks

The Arles Blue looks great but on the Series kind of partial to the Pastel Green...

Pastel green looks sweet!! Limestone wheels and top w/ green window sides. Sand s/t. Or, body color the wheels??
I am a bit partial to the Arles, but afraid it will look too Defenderish.
RAF blue is nice also, as is Dolphin grey...
Decisions decisions. The bulkhead, seatbox, breakfast, frame, axle tubes, wheels, window sides are all PC'd black, but the painter says no worries- chose a color?!

Man, I like them all.

My S3 was Bronze Green with Limestone wheels and top, it was really, really pretty.......certainly at the top of the list.

I am also a big fan of the Marine Blue.......especially if you but a nice tan soft top on it.

Here is my 2A:

I think the limestone looks great too, you just need to coordinate the rest of the truck. I have a limestone 2A with a Sand canvas top and black wheels.......I think it looks pretty sharp, but your opinion may differ.

Lastly, the Poppy Red with a nice tan canvas top really is beautiful too. I don't have this color truck, but one day I will have this color combination.

All good options for sure- love the Marine Blue!

I have heard over the years the window sides can be Limestone like the roof, or body color- both done from factory. Can anyone shed more light on this?

I prefer either the blue, Arles or Marine, or the limestone.

my 2 cents -Are you going to put it up for sale? If yes, well there are fans of every color and so I'd keep it factory just for originality's sake. Limestone is not a "bad" color in any sense and it is definitely a genuine LandRover color, nice and neutral. OR, put it up for sale and have list color choice up to the buyer -you may be able to command a premium with that scheme.

If its for you, then I'd be considering Marine Blue, or Poppy Red -only you (and significant other?) can decide!

oh allright found it... it sounds like a perfect original vehicle so for me its no question -figure out what color it came from the factory (Limestone?) and get it back to that state! No sense in claiming how original a vehicle is and then changing it. People who want original want original and that is this trucks strength -play to it. If it came with that winch then 100% get that winch on the truck. this is one for some rich collector.

Steve, luckily I have a pile of before 'print' pics, so easy to replicate. I am just not a fan of the Limestone...
However, your idea of customer choosing may work with the only problem being we are ready to paint. We paint each piece prior to assembly, and I need to have some space back. And have the 110 in pieces too as my painter is behind, thus messing up the sequence a bit.

If you are going for originality on a Series IIa then you have a choice of 4 colors: Pastel Green (RTC4041A), Bronze Green (RTC4042A), Marine Blue (RTC4043A), and Limestone (RTC4044A). Poppy Red, Sand, Mid Grey, Sandglow and so on, were Series III and later colors.

OK - so for me (being a series guy) I have owned one of each color I think - my thoughts are:

Colors for a soft top (in order): Marine Blue, Limestone, Bronze Green
Colors for a hard top (in order): Pastel Green/Limestone sides & top, Marine Blue/Artic white sides & top

Not downing on other colors but just partial to these combos IMO

BTW Poppy Red was a IIa color - full listing of available colors and codes here: http://www.lrfaq.org/Series/Other.paint.Codes.html
