Period-correct off road lights

Anyone have a notion of what would be the right thing to look for? What would have been the going thing for off road lights in 1966? I have found some lucas models that seem to be pretty close...big chrome housings and all that. I have considered looking at motorcycle headlamps as well. Cibie is another brand that seems to have been popular at the time.

maybe. I wonder if they were made back then?
Just checked out their site. They began in 1970. A little after '66, but would not be out of character to have them.

Bill,

The porsche people have all sorts of period correct stuff. Marchels, Cibies, Lucas etc. Reproductions are available.

If you look at period pictures, the MOST you will usually see on 60s land rovers is a set of small fogs. No one thought it a good idea to run giant lights with a generator.

The KCs are a great idea. I had a chrome one that looked straight out of the 60s/70s when I bought it new 15 years ago.

Did they come with smoke or you had to add it?

I suffered a small smoke leakage from my main beam /flash switch two weeks ago but managed to recharge the system with a mixture of WD40 and compressed air.

OK well I have settled on Lucas SLR 700 for the mains and SFT 576 for the fogs. Several on ebay.co.uk right now so just need to find a willing seller who isn't afraid of a little mailing. What is it about UK sellers? They seem to think everyone is out to scam them.
