OM617 conversion - alternator fouls the frame

Anyone have a solution to the stock alternator of the OM617 hitting the frame on a 2a 88" LHD?
I'm using the stock MB power steering pump for my P38 steering box so that isn't an alternative location.
I've removed the battery tray and the mounts and I haven't installed the motor yet so it is possible the alt could fit with some modification. Robert Davis, who made the swap kit I'm using says he is almost certain it will contact the frame because his kit tilts the motor a bit to clear the bulkhead for the oil filter housing.
Any solution?

Clark:
I think there may be enough room to mount the alternator in the AC compressor location, but a custom bracket would be required.

Thanks Robert......

Been looking at that area and using the stock aluminum mount as a template, but it looks like I'd have to re-route the oil cooler lines so I still haven't given up on the stock location.
I'll know better when I try a test fit of the motor.
