NLA curved window

HI,

Yesterday I was advised by Rovers North to post to this forum. I need a curved rear window for my 1966 Series IIA 109" cab. Anyone got any ideas? Thanks! jr

Passenger side (right). I don't suppose they're interchangeable, are they?

Thanks for that! It didn't make sense that they'd be NLA. I'll call Rovers North again and talk to the Customer Service Manager to find out what's going on. Thanks again, Jeff. I"ll get back to you if I need to. jr

There is tons of stuff that RN will say is NLA cause to them it is. They have a finite sources for parts they sell. Thats why you google the part number or search some of the big rover parts vendors in the UK. Asking the customer service manager is going to do anything. They are pretty upfront about parts they are waiting on that are en-route shipping to them.

Bill, thanks for your input. I live in the same town as Rovers North so it's easy to deal with them. The issue, as the Customer Service manager explained, is that the window is available. The discontinued old one is 5MM thick and the new available one is 4, that's all. Solihull changed the part number accordingly. Good price too. Thanks again! jr

Back in the 80's, all the glass (side windows, roll up and rear sliding safari glass's) were all 5mm, then they thinned them to 4mm and they've been like that ever since.

Don't know why. can't be weight saving, on a rover! maybe the "newer" glass is stronger, thus needs less thickness?

Or knowing LR, it's just to save

Yes, charge the same but reduce the cost and don't bother to mention that the glass is thinner. unless someone asks.
