I bought a 1982 Santana Series III 109 back in January from a dealership in Coruņa, Spain. The guys there had taken it as a trade from a local who was the original owner. I am in the Army and stationed in Italy and am looking to take it back with me next June; Im just having a hard time finding out all the information I need for the engine. I just want to make sure that the engine is either a) the original engine or b) that the engine I have in the truck is 25 years or older. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Here is all the info I have on the engine:
On the front of the engine there are two distance markings. the serial number and another stamping: the serial is "ES 23112325" and the other stamping looks like 13J, but the 3J are close together and the one seems too far off. Also, the head has a "558114 C.A." stamped on the driver side.
I'm also sure that I have a 2.25 NA Diesel, but all this information gathering is making me think I have a 2.5 NA Diesel. Please help. I included more than engine pictures just to give you guys an idea of the truck I have. Thanks again in advance.
It's a 2.25. 2.5 was much later. Dunno if Land Rover was still providing lumps to Santana at that time since those were pretty dark times in British automotive history. If they were well, hope it wasn't made on a Monday or a Friday!
Wish I could be more help but Santanas are not all that popular outside their home turf.
