which 5cyl diesel? om605?!

I mean I can't imagine any snorkle wouldn't fit with the right plumbing. Don't think it would make a difference to the diesel engine

I'm excited, just purchased this rover series 111 1983 2 dr. lhd . from a gentleman who bought the Land Rover out of Holland , ex mod , had the conversion done in Germany and sent here , He's had it for 16 yrs. and loved it .
I came along at the right time and now its mine and I'm happy.
Its rust free , floor panels and bulk head without any rust issues . The frame is coated with some really heavy duty inhibitor and the mileage on the truck is like 7km.

Is there enough room for a filter big enough to not restrict the airflow?
I've been told you need at least 500-550 cfm for the om617.
I did think about trying to "tee" into the outside heater air intake so that both the engine and the heater would have less dusty or wet air, but all the bends would make a very tight fit - if even possible.
Very interesting that someone was adding om617s to LRs 16 years ago. I wonder if someone was manufacturing and selling the adapters/oil pan/etc?
Could you post a picture of the engine bay.

Pretty simple mine is,
Two 2.5" exhaust sections coupled together by radiator hose N 90° through the fender where plastic grill sat, used old street sign for where plastic gill was then another 90° to head towards air canister,
Scoop, up to your tastes,
I was and am on limited $$$ so this was the best way to go & it functions

Don if you still have pics please post cause I never figured out how to from phone ;--)

Oh I used a Jaguar air canister bolted to turbo if it helps

I think you texted them to me and my old texts delete after a month. If you don't mind resending to text or email I will post up on this thread for the OP.

The first picture shows a stock om617 air cleaner assembly but the other two are of a different unit.
Seems like the stock unit fits well so I'm not clear why the other setup.
