Lizard Skin Sound insulation

has anyone used this stuff to "sound insulate" their Defenders? Seems it would be a hell of a lot cheaper and easier to do...

http://www.lizardskin.com/

I saw it on Extreme 4X4 last saturday... just wandering if anyone had used it.

thanks!

I saw this as well but have not used it. I am also considering the ceramic insulation for heat suppression beneath the seats. Keep us posted if you decide to go with it

We looked at this before, but I was always scared off by "water resistant" and not water proof.
No actual experience with the product though.

I used a similar product from CAE but it had little noticeable effect as far as I could tell.

Bringing this back to top to see if anyone has since tried it? I talked with them and they said "water proof" as in water will roll off and actually protect the surface underneath from rusting. Weight was minimal and could remove with heat/scrapping. I'm looking to take out my carpets and put down something to protect against water, dampen sound and look clean.

I'm half tempted to try it. Now that the truck is in pieces.

I am too but for 240$, tons of prep time to find out its not effective would suck.

We went to the PRI show last year and talked with the owner of this company. He seems to stand behind his product 110% against Line-X and Rhino Liner. We've set up a dealer account with them. So we can offer it to you guys when we order a batch in.

The next restoration truck on the list will most likely be getting this on it. I can upload some photos of it and maybe a video with sound if I can capture the difference before and after.

I'd be very interested to hear a real world experience. Also any idea on when you'll be placing an order?

I've got a couple buddies that have used it and love it. One was on a Jeep buggy build and the other was on an all out tube frame buggy. Both get used hard and have held up well. Both owners are very happy with the results and ease of application.

Just found this thread...any follow ups on anyone that has finally used this? Results? Pictures?
I think I might pull the trigger on this. Prep time is the same but application time is significantly shorter plus this will prevent water problems because water won't be able to penetrate between the metal and the coating.
Thoughts?
Ed
