Ha. Well said! It's all relative! It's the rides. To many computers on the range. That equals people with no feeling for the road or community. They call AAA and the dealer for work, we call on the board.

So their "automated" cars turn the drivers (and forum moderators) into robots....makes sense. Doesn't necessarily explain what turns them into dicks, but I digress. Reminds me why 70% of my cars have no electronics to speak of, and 35% of my cars are older than I am.

Jason I have no answer for you! Except to say that the mods on the RR.Net site have been in place too long I would imagine.

As far as the Viscus fan, I put a (super heavy duty from Hayden) on my each of my P38's. Sold through Summit..

This nothing to do with this tread but you talk of computers, was just reading this in the New York Times about Automatic emergency braking systems becoming standard fitment.

Exactly! I think I already own my last car! ;-)

Why don't they just get rid of that darn steering wheel while they're at it.

I posted a follow-up question in a thread on rangerovers.net about a viscous fan that the original poster was having. I explained and reiterated the specific part number in question was the same as mine, and said I was having a similar issue and wondered if his fix solved the problem (and if he went genuine or oem). The mods immediately went apeshit, deleting my posts - and any subsequent posts from other users responding to my post - with no inclination why (other than I was from the USA, and couldn't possibly know what I was talking about for this particular part#). They then tried to reprimand me for NOT responding to a follow-up post from another user - even though they had deleted (immediately) both my post as well as the follow-up post! There was other ludicrous exchanges between myself and the mods, who insisted that (sarcasm) because I did not post my mothers maiden name, social security number, and length of my penis in that particular post it would not be allowed.

If Stalin himself was reincarnated and ran an internet forum, I can only imagine it would be rangerovers.net. That said, I am suddenly extremely grateful for the hands-off approach that the mods here on D-90 take...
Wow! Jason - were you in the RRC thread or P38 subforum? Most of the folks in the RRC threads are pretty nice. Never had any wankers from across the pond discounting our NAS knowledge/experience.

I can't really speak to the P38 forum, and the forums for the newer RRs, well, let's just leave it at they're the automated trucks...Seriously, I know the mods in the RRC forum monitor for language and 'civility', as well as appropriateness, i.e., non-technical threads started in technical threads, or nubes starting threads in the wrong forum, but this is pretty disturbing and another reason why D-source is a better LR community.

It has to be the non-classic sub-forums. I'm a relatively new RRC owner and have only looked for advice from other Source members (for as a defender owner, you must be a bit of a sadist, and classics fit nicely with this proclivity). But as a P38 owner on RR.net, I've noticed the sub-forum being less than engaging.
