1967 2A Wagon running rough

Had a problem with gas in the oil on my 2A Wagon, put a new fuel pump on and flushed the oil and it runs much better but is still very rough, will race upon starting hot or cold then after a few minutes the revs will go down and it will stall. The plugs are black but not oily from running rich. It has a Zenith R361V fitted. The carb linkage is slack, I think a rebuild kit is a waste of time and effort and plan to fit a Weber unless anyone has a better soloution. The idle screw has little effect

Which weber are you going with? I really didn't like my single barrel weber, but loved my 2bbl weber. Many people out here in California are running a rochester carb and are very happy with it.

I have a 70 SWB Wagon with a single barrel on it and it is OK nothing great. I would consider a Rochester if you have more info. I have a 2 barrel Weber off my 85 2.25 110 but that has 2 soleniods which I would have to wire in. What Rochester do you reccomend. I need to move quickly as it is perfect driving weather in Virginia now.

check to see if the top or the main body of the carb is warped. It is common for the two halves to leak between them. You can check by separating the two halves and using a known straight edge on the surfaces.

I use a Carter YF, and it works amazingly good.
