WTB: ALH VW TDI long block in RI area (I know it is a long shot)

Threw a rod threw the block this morning on my 02 Golf. Have not pulled the head yet to know if I need a long block or short block.

If anyone has a long block or complete engine for sale within the CT/RI/MA/NH area, let me know.

You sell one and the other one repays you this way.

Unfair!!!!

I don't know about the brakes, only their unreliability.

48mpg down to 12mpg, excellent replacement. Check craigslist, kids have been buying these cars up now, so there will be plenty of them wrecked into trees and such... Also the automatic ones had the 11mm injection pump if you wanted more power.

12 blah, I got 16 coming up from VA to RI last night!

I found an ALH out of an Auto (bigger IP) in MA with 133k on her. It's going to cost me $1600 for the complete engine. But as I don't know the status of my head, I think I am going to just bite the bullet and do it. I can always tear down the old engine and sell the parts that are good.

Buy it and change the T-belt and water pump, other than oil leaks, mine is great at 305k, but i busted the shifter linkage real well (the bolts ripped apart the shifter box).
