Paint looks faded to me. Wish ECR would date stamp their builds so we know when it was done.
Wheels are faded and sad.
Wonder If it ran around on dealer plates to avoid registration especially if the vin was swapped.

Edit: VIN is for a1983/4 110 RHD v8 4speed.

It would be really sad if someone saw this ad and reported it to the Feds. I would be sad for the Land Rover itself, that is.

Really...we may need to chat, had I known that I'd have rummaged for it while you were enjoying the 22mm nylocks.

Yep... I don't know were it is. It's there somewhere.

The 22mm nylocks were not that bad after all.

I wonder what Keith would offer for it in its current state....

Whoever took the photos for the Craigslist ad did a terrible job given a list price of $140k.

the green truck is not bad at all. if you change some things it would be awesome:
* wheels
* leather covered console
* the rear seat is a toss up.

remember it was built for a "range rover" dealership. so it is a defender with range crap in it. they dont know any better. =)

The ad said something about a galvy rear cross member. So, was the frame rusty and a repair made? Was that all the rust? Do trucks with "rusty and repaired" frames sell for $140K?

I guess we find out whether a ROW truck completely rebuilt by ECR is worth as much as a NAS truck that has been rebuilt by ECR. Always have been curious how much the roll cage, lights, and number plate added to the value of a rig.

ECR build thread clearly shows new galvy chassis. Nice build actually until they "pimped my ride". Still looking for the picture where 3 plasma screens each with its own X-Box 360. Don't blame ECR for the outcome though, the customer obviously had a very specific scope of work and specification involved (who has that much work done at ECR only to have it painted by others? - personally, I f-ing hate ECR but their paint work is second to none)

THis sort of reminds me at a an attempt (a poor one) at the "Holland & Holland" edition P38 which was pretty cool back about 15 years ago. A Yank's version of Berkshire Land Rover's style.

I agree w/Keith that I'd buy this all day long at $40k, in fact I'd buy two. the build is very nice. I'd love to know what this eventually sells for as a market data point. We could all use it as a reference point when some ludicrous Defender pops up on ebay and we argue for days on its value.

There's an ass for every seat, so I'm sure this will find a home in some posuer's garage. Maybe this is the answer to the Real Housewives of Greenwich taxi (G500)? (sorry keith I know you had a nice G500)

A lady in my town has a nicely built 110 LHD 5d in green with a 300tdi, looked brand new when i was looking it (mint interior and paint), i believe it had a galvy chassis, and i also believe foley did the work but could be wrong. She said it was only like $45k shipped for everything. If all that could be had for $45k, i would never waste my time on this thing at anywhere over $60k.

There now appear to be quite a few options to having a "legal import" MY completely pimped for the US market....for at least $100K less.
