The end price wasn't such a steal at $1,225. I took a mild (manual) stab at the rear light bar by the same seller, but was outbid. But that went cheap at $45

Not sure about that. This one fetched serious dollars because it is the back half of the NAS cage which a lot of the early trucks did not have and is required to run a full soft top. I doubt there is much pent up demand for the rest of the cage.
