It look like a 2006 ROW spec LHD 300tdi that had its frame (and hopefully some other parts) replaced to comply with UK law's "points" to be properly VINed as a 1983.

Correct, BUT importation here depends on the Customs Officer's "comfort level" with the degree of restoration. This is an unknown and arbitrary. A board member here recently had a restoration denied entry and received a $5.5k fine and was given 60 days to get the truck out of the US. So the fact that its legal in the UK is a moot point here.

I think Foleys had it listed for 26k Pounds. but it could be a different one. If this one sells for over $64k which is the current bid, then 26k Pounds is a steal at current exchange rates. ( $40k to $42k) wouldn't be surprised if the high bid on Ebay doesn't come through with the cash.
