Sister looking for an older (60's-70's) Bronco or Scout

Anybody know of any for sale? She would like one in good mechanical condition, v8, prefer stick, will consider different top configurations as well (soft, hard, etc)

This (already sold one) is very close to what she's looking for -> 1972 Ford Bronco 302 V8 | Bring a Trailer

She's located in NYC but is willing to travel for the right vehicle.

I wish I still had a picture. My best friend in high school somehow talked his parents into buying him a 1979 Scout II for his first car. The best part about it was that it was pink. Apparently the previous owner had it painted Harley Davidson Orange, but it came out pink.

I saw the sweeetest Bronco at Ditch Plains beach on Tuesday.

There is a green convertible Bronco for sale in Montauk right by Duryas Lobster deck. Looked like it needed some work, and it was lime green. They were asking $18k

It's on the road with a sign in the window

I'd stay away from a Scout - they rust worse than a Land Cruiser. Early Scouts had a very small diameter ring gear that was pretty fragile.

I had a 1967 International Travelall back in the 1970's and getting parts for it back then was difficult. I can't imagine its gotten any better over the last 40 years. Plus the parts people at International were some of the worst morons I ever had the "pleasure" of dealing with.

Early Broncos are pretty cool - V-8's with a stick shift were the exception back when they were new. Most of the stick shifts seemed to be six cylinder trucks but with today's aftermarket its a lot easier to convert one. Power steering was not common either but there are some nice alternative upgrades for that now as well.

Funny you say that, she was out there yesterday which was what started this idea. She had been thinking about getting something but seeing all the Broncos, Scouts (and rovers) was what pushed this idea.

I sold my Scout 1 in BAT last month , but also have a really nice Scout 2. It is a stick , low miles, and has a fiberglass body and very clean chassis. Only a 4 cyl but has plenty of pep, and upgrading to a V-8 is easy if desired. I bought it to play with on Nantucket for the summer but have been have not gotten around to even bringing it on island yet. It is stashed at a buddies house south of Boston. PM me if interested. I would not hesitate to sell it to my sister.

I've always liked the 66-77 Broncos. I owned a few, this being the best one:

This might be perfect, but she'd definitely repaint, haha

I think LR borrowed much of the RRC design from that era

Holy crap Kelly. That is a seriously nice truck. Still have it? My son was out driving mine last week and took a pic....just to let me know he's having a sufficiently fun time while I'm busting my ass at work. 😄
