Series 109 matchbox car

Hey guys, this isn't for sale as I just got it, but I wanted to share some pics and see if anyone knows what the heck this red thing is on the top? it's not magnetic that I can tell. tried sticking it to the fridge and nada.

Found some lady on Craigslist in WI that had a bunch of other matchbox/toy cars and this one somehow caught my eye.

yep the red thing was carefully selected by the previous child owner as an accessory to confuse an owner in the future ...

HAHA! So some dipstick stuck some weird thing on the top where the roof rack was supposed to be. Good to know as I can now in clear conscience put the red thing in a box. Too funny! Thanks Jason!
