Selling my 1989 Toyota FJ62 (California)

Hello all. I have a shot at a local 110 (yeah it's a gamble to register here in CA, but I want to give it a shot) ... So I am selling my very strong running 1989 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ62.

Looking to get $10,500
Truck is located in Encinitas, California

Here is the craigslist ad:

Up for sale is my 1989 FJ62 Toyota Land Cruiser. It is my very reliable daily driver, and one of the coolest surf trucks out there. This is a great opportunity to get a mechanically sound, rust free truck. These Land Cruisers are only going up in value.

- Very strong daily driver
- Starts every time, very reliable
- Smooth automatic transmission
- Cruise control
- Lots of maintenance records
- Recently overhauled cooling system
- Recently overhauled suspension
- Great compression & passes smog with ease
- Never overheats
- Brand new 33" tires (transmission has been re-geared to accommodate the non-stock larger tires)
- Old Man Emu lift
- Rock sliders
- Original paint
- Virtually rust free (very very small spot on rear gate ... see photo). It's been a Southern California car it's whole life
- 304k miles

This fj62 is really spectacular and gets a lot of comments and compliments everyday.

Thats pretty damn clean. Most 60s are pretty rotted. My BJ60 was the best truck I have ever owned.

Thanks Jarrod. It actually surprises me everytime I get under and over it how clean it is. I'm probably crazy for trying to sell my strong running rust free truck for a very rusty 110. Since selling my 90 I've probably forgotten how much time and money I had to pour into it, while this fj62 is just a drive and enjoy ride.

$9,900 on eBay with no reserve and 20 hours left ... I think I might need to just go park it on the beach with a sale sign

I personally think that you are. Rust free 60s are a rare animal. With the right suspension and tires, they ride pretty damn well. Did you put it on Mud?

Bump. $8500 ... Lost my shot at the 110 I was eyeing. Would consider trade deals involving 2004 Disco, LR3, FJ80 Land Cruiser, Tundra, or Sequoia

Oh, and I was wrong, it's hasn't spent its entire life in CA. Turns out it spent the first couple years on a Air Force base in Alaska before heading down here to CA.

Dear god. So much FJ62 porn. I am urging my brother to buy this as a beach truck.

I would buy this right now if it had a third pedal and a Diesel engine.

Sorry for the radio silence. Had to dial in a few things ... Now with a fully rebuilt transmission and torque converter (and a 2 year warranty on the both of them)! Not actively selling outside this forum, mostly want to trade for a defender. Would take $14k. Click image for larger version
