Selling my '01 911

Need to clear some room in the garage for the '88 90 I have coming from the UK so I'm reluctantly selling my 2001 Porsche 911 Carrera.

It's silver over black and in pristine condition with only 35,000 miles.

Asking $26,900.

Was not sure I could post it in the vehicles for sale section so here is a link to my Craigslist ad: http://nashville.craigslist.org/cto/3719527291.html

I've got photos I can send or post if someone is interested. PM, email or call 615-594-7334. Car is located in Franklin TN, just south of Nashville.

Cheers,

CARL

Guys, thanks for the comments and positive feedback.

I've been lurking here for quite a while and knew it was only a matter of time before I got another Defender. Since selling my old one back to the original owners (who were delighted to have it back in their family) I had to scratch the 911 itch I'd had forever.

Since then, I've got a new position at work that gives me access to a couple of the world's best sports cars so the 911 hardly ever gets driven. And I made a deal with my wife that something would go in order to purchase the '90. So it was either the 911 or my trusty DII so the Disco stays and the Porsche goes.

I'll post some details soon on my 90.

Cheers,

CARL

With low miles and obvious care/pride of ownership, PCA (magazine and website) will be one of the better places to expose that particular model to true enthusiasts. If you're a PCA member I think its free.

The problem with advertising it anywhere else is that you'll be competing against clapped out 60,000+ mile examples that haven't been serviced or cared for that are priced in the high teens/low twenties. Yours is obviously in a different league than those cars, but still most buyers will be ignorant of how painful a neglected P-car can be financially.

You need to find an enthusiast looking for a mid-model 996 specifically. The color is right and the sport exhaust tips are nice, but you're really up against an endless sea of 996s.

Looks really nice for a '01. GLWS.

Two things very important in these years model are the IDS and the RMS.

If you have performed said upgrades, please list them as many potential buyers will be influenced by them.

( when I was considering selling mine - did not sell it , couldn't part with it , so I made it my Daily Driver - most interested parties where concerned about the issues well known in the community )

I am a PCA member, just haven't posted on the Mart yet. And Jackie is right- there are a lot of high-mile, clapped-out 996's around. I looked for a long time and got lucky finding this one.

Not sure what the IDS is but the RMS on my car is sorted and this think doesn't leak oil (which is something for a 911.)

I'll probably also post it on Pelican or Rennlist but as you might be able to tell, I'm not exactly dying to get rid of it.

Cheers,

Keep the 911 and still get the 90. Tell the wife the market is soft and the is no sense in giving it away and you'll "try" and sell it again later.
