reported as: Accident reported involving right front impact with another motor vehicle, disabling damage reported. Vehicle towed on 2/16/12 then issued salvage title/total loss on 6/16/12
CarFax says the airbags didn't deploy...that has to keep some value to it

It looks better than it did a few years ago, but there are still clearly some issues with likely the frame and the work done to redo the car since the wreck. Look at how far back and inset the passenger side wheel is, compared to the driver side. Crazy. Some pics from before and after. Considering the odometer showed 138,075 a few years ago and still does now, the odometer is either broken or the truck has not had any testing since the "work" has been done to it. Or both.

Good idea. It looks like there are certain comments that can be on the certificate that makes it not rebuild-able:

http://dmv.ny.gov/registration/about...le-examination

Such as:

'parts only'
'non-rebuildable'
'non-repairable'
'scrapped'
'destroyed'

According to Copart Glossary of Terms, these are the NY title types and P is not here:

Title type denotes the ownership documents that will be transferred to the buyer. Each state issues a wide variety of different ownership documents. Each type of document carries with it certain ownership rights and certain restrictions or burdens. Members should research the viability of each type of title document for their intended use of the lot prior to bidding. Each state maintains information on their websites for this purpose. Not all Members are able to bid on every title type, some require specific business licenses. As long as your budget isn't $4,600 for a NAS truck you should be able to find what you're looking for eventually with realistic expectations/budget. As with most things you get what you pay for usually. For example, this one was local to you as well and had been popping up on the local craigslit for months.

So, at what price does this not end up being a deal for a parts car? 8k? 10k? Certainly lots of things in there that you can sell for reasonable prices.

Depends on the condition. Roll cage probably make 5-6k if it's in great condition ...

NY MV-907A, if rebuildable, requires inspection by NY State DMV after rebuild in order to receive a new title. That is to say, that if you rebuild in any other state, it will still have to come back to NY to be inspected before a new title can be issued. A new title cannot be issued from any other state except NY. Again, this is only of it is rebuildable. If parts only MV-907A, then it will not get a new title...period.
