ROW 110 for sale on ih8mud

Saw this on ih8mud:

http://forum.ih8mud.com/vehicles-tra...-missouri.html

Seller is asking for USD 65K. Seems like a pretty steep mark up to me. Last I checked you can get the exact same car from Foley (galvy chassis swapped ride rebuilt to 2006 specs with AC) for GBP 30K + shipping or ~ USD 50K landed to your door.

When you consider that's it's already here and registered in MO I would say it seems well priced but don't know 110 market that well.

It looks really legit, ie well done, on a new galvy frame with 2006 dash, etc, etc.

Question is.....what is age of engine (reman, new) and same about tranny, TC, diffs, etc.

Also, how was the restoration of the tub, bonnet, roof, and fenders? You can hide a LOT under a well done, new paint job!

Curious to here what others think??

My guess would be it is a brand new 2006 ROW spec truck with a new galv frame and the only thing that came from the 1985 was the vin & title.

I'm pretty sure that's what happened. The prices I quoted in my first post were what Foley quoted me to do just that.

When I looked at doing it in 08 w/ keith gott it was only going to be around 40k. But the wife wanted the Rubicon Unlimited. Now we wish we would have gotten the 110.

DD90, the engine and transmission are new as jamespierce suggested.

The ROW 110s are drying up in the UK and prices are climbing. Also, as many of you know, 25 year old 110 prices are climbing as well. If you aren't happy with the price - feel free to make an offer. ;-)

BTW, this truck is now listed in the classifieds, here.

Thanks,
Dan

Hey Dan, wasn't trying to crap on your FS thread. I'm quite sure you can get > 60K you're asking for (look here for evidence: http://www.defendersource.com/forum/...ad.php?t=25085) given how many people don't want to deal with the hassle of importation and registering the car for the first time here in the US. Might be worth the 10-15K premium to some, just not to me.

These were 15k UKP two years ago now foley wants 21k UKP? They are snickering about the suckers in the US me thinks. You can get an actual 2010 with AC (and ZXLs) for 18.5k UKP.

Yes, but they were 15ukp when the exchange rate was 2:1 - now its more like 1.5, so the price works out the same. You know, they're just trying to help us yanks budget better.

Agreed. Better grow a set soon. There are less than 5 of the lhd 06 donors left.

There are now less than 4 of the 2006 ROW trucks left! Though I Know of a supply of 2005 trucks, but I'm not telling!

I don't think that is happening anytime soon.
