Jason, look at eBay EK. You can have galvanized chassis, td5, 2.4tdci, 2.2tdci, lower miles, all day long for under 20k British pounds. The difference is, these trucks are no longer able to enter the country "rebuilt" on to 1984 VIN.

A brand new, 2015 110 SW sells for 27,500 British pounds including VAT. That is $40k USD, brand new. New. We pay that for borderline decent trucks that are 25yo, original chassis, original engine, resprays as you know. Our safety regs prevent the new trucks to be sold here by LRNA and our import laws create drive this false, inflated market.

Customs caught on to "rebuilds." The game changed forever.

So is this truck here legally or not? I guess I'm not following. Of course if it runs a chance of seizure that will affect value.

Not a 100k build as of 4 years ago and you should email the car broker who has it and ask for more photos if you actually want it.

Prices have shot up in the past few years. Unless something happened to it that I dont know about, more photos would only help the sale.

Anyway I'm checking out of this thread. That truck will be a great purchase for whomever buys it. The owner is a good dude and from what I know it was maintained very well.

I have known the seller Adam for several years as well. He's a member of the forum but not sure he's been active recently.

Was it imported with the proper documents and passed the appropriate screening via CBP? Yes. Would the current state of affairs allow for this vehicle to enter today? Doug can answer better than I, but we all know the answer.

In regard to seizure, do we know of a single vehicle not related to Wilmington, Dr A, and his affiliates that has been seized post import? Not to my knowledge. I would not be concerned, but that depends on personality and comfort. Today's standards vs yesterday's...

I had a truck seized in California, in 2011, its was 14 months after import. The import was done by Doug. The vehicle has a clear CA title. It was seized because when I went to sell it a certain well know east coast dealer who thinks the US market is theirs reported it to the govt for its puma power train. They took it, and after i disowned it, re-vinned it and its now in use by the Anaheim Police department, essentially the state of CA stole it! They also took two from Overfinch USA at the same time.

We are running this new transparency thing around here, so what dealer reported your truck?

The chap I was dealing with in the California system only told me it was a well known East Coast Dealer, He didn't name names, but I'm 90% sure who was to blame. I'm sure it was the same chap who had Doug fined, and caused problems to others.

Overfinch had four trucks seized at the same time as yours.

Overfinch had all of their trucks returned to them but they did have to export them.

Wonder why you didn't get yours back.

I told them to keep it, Overfinch got their trucks from Berkshire. I got a quote for legal fees, storage costs etc and at that time its value in the UK wasn't great so I decided it would be cheaper to just let it go, and that's what I did.
