Had a friend swing by to see it this afternoon. Rolf was "at an auction" and none of the workers would show my friend the truck. They told him that they were doing some work on it.

It's gone from Ebay.

If that's the truck I think it is, the water was likely over the roof.

That explains why there was no visible water line in the photos.

Incidentally, I spoke to Rolf. He told me that the truck sold last Thursday.

So, what's it worth?

Out of curiosity what do you guys think this SHOULD sell for? Has anyone checked out what is going on underneath? 20k$, too high too low?

The last time it was on eBay it was bid up to $18,100 with 30+ bids. That SHOULD give you a good idea on what people are willing to pay. I wouldn't want a D90 if it was flooded by salt water no matter pretty much whatever the price was, unless it was under $10k as I could just rip off the cage and center console, and some other bits and scrap the rest and sell the title.

Since it was inundated with salt water, this truck will never stop making you sad. Whatever the buy-in, you will end up replacing more or less everything on it sooner or later. For what you will spend in remediation, you can buy a good truck (maybe two) that you will be able to actually
enjoy.
Here's a quick list of what you will be shelling out for:
Anything electric. Wiring, motors, you name it.
Anything steel. If it can rust, it will, but twice as fast as if it never got wet. This includes the frame.
Fuel system. All of it including the electrical bits in the tank.
Brake system. ABS? It's toast or soon will be.
Interior. Seat cushions will begin to stink like Islay single malt, then like a cat box, then like a dump. Seat belt mechanisms must be replaced due to the rusting of the innards.

I would imagine the inside of the frame is in real trouble. And I can almost guarantee these sellers haven't even bothered to check it out as for most buyers its out of sight out of mind. But that thing will rot from the inside out.
