Puma FS at Boston dealer?

Very surprised to see this advertised at a large dealership.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/110-/...ht_13030wt_948

Whiskey Tango Foxtrot! How are they able to pull this off?

If you were ever going to skirt the legalities of owning a real Puma, this is your opportunity. You've got some insulation if they come to take it away (Chambers has deep pockets) I'm sure they'd gladly reimburse you the $129,000 to avoid the embarrassment of having willfully sold you an illegal import.

Unless there is something like a crazy loophole that I'm unaware of, this truck is just waiting to made an example.

I love the description about the various trim levels of the Range Rover Sport.

Looks like 5 lines going to the engine.

Doesn't that suggest either a td5 or the mythical 3.2 5 cylinder? Yet it says its a six??? Wtf indeed.
Vin number in description is different from header
And does go to a puma.
Confused.

49800 on the description yet 80000 on the ODO. Is it that hard to list a car properly?

Simple KM to miles conversion. No conspiracy there

Put your four year old in the second row of this defender and then get broadsided. Best of luck. Your kid will be in the ICU on life support, then you will choose to pull the plug.

Did you read the carfax?....All the information there is inaccurate. from description to VIN

So here is the question what is the vehicle with VIN SALSH2E45AA231750 doing?

According to CalVIN thats a VIN number that doesn't compute on many levels.

Not saying its shady, just that the computer doesn't know what the hell the date we're giving it means.

On another level the Dealer Herb Chambers has Land Rover Franchises. Wonder if he is risking those franchises by selling at one of his shops a gray market vehicle.

Manufacturer code: Land RoverS
Model: Unknown model codeH
Model specification: 110in2Body type: 2-door, open (soft top)
EEngine type: Unknown engine type4Steering, transmission, GVW:
Left-hand drive (LHD), 4-speed automatic, 6000lb5
Checksum code: checks out okA
Model year: Unknown year code
AAssembly location: Solihull, UK
231750Serial number

I don't know, but I'm going up there this weekend to get the story!
Only about 1 hour north.
On second thought, I should probably call first because there is a strong chance the truck isn't even there.

After reading Doug's comments earlier regarding DOT cracking down on imports, I have to see this to believe it.

What's strange is that Chambers is a ginormous dealer with a very large dealership footprint. Yet the seller only has 20 feedback on eBay. I'm sure Chambers has a big Internet sales department, yet this offering has limited feedback?

Per the usual, lots of questions and not a lot of answers. Gotta admit, I'm curious. Price seems like it might be too good to be true, or who knows. When you think about it we are all a bunch of idiots for swooning over a USED English version of a Chevy Suburban priced 3x over MSRP in GB.

Soo, I guess we are all unsafe assholes who endanger our childern on a daily basis? While you are the enlightened one here who was intelligent and caring enough to sell his D90 to save the children. Right? I must hate my kids.

I would just let that comment go. Look at the time stamp (9:00pm on Friday). I have personally been 30 drinks deep at that point on a Friday and have said some "punchy" stuff on here and on emails. I'll give him a pass.
