I got a couple from Tony and lined the insides with thin Spanish cedar and gave them as gifts. Turned out pretty nice. Ill find a picture and post it up.

Yeah I'm pissed I don't have a pic of mine on my phone - could have sworn I posted a pic of it at one point here but can't find it. Mine is Desert Tan - I figured the color would help keep things a little cooler inside than the black would.

Tony I'm on the search for this foam as well - if I find a source I'll let you know.

Hey, I think that's it, Bill! They were happy to send just the corrugated sheets and I *think* one sheet was enough for 2 trays in the 1120. If you're doing it yourself, measure well as the interior of the 1120 is very slightly tapered, so the two trays aren't actually the same size (if you want the top tray to be snug).

Josh, that's exactly the humidifying crystal tube I was referring to. All I have left from Africa is a bag of pipe tobacco. I need to go load up with a box of Ghurka Ghosts next week! I'll be on the NC beach for a 3 week command post exercise and it looks like I'll be living in my RTT, so every night's a smoking night in January!

I still have the case I bought from you a few years ago. How about just the innards?

I'm working on the innards by the yard - if it works out I'll let Tony know.

Josh, I'd think you'd have to buy in significant quantity to make any cost savings worth the effort. I didn't realize that there were grades of open cell foam, but if your travel humidor needs are that sophisticated, so be it! Not trying to give you static, I"m just afraid you might be out thinking this a bit.

Let me know, I have emails out to some of my contacts to see if there's anything available on the secondary market for either 1120s or 1200s.

Tony

The foam is only need to provide some cushion for the cigars when they get bounced around. it is mandatory if you use a humidifying element or gauge on the lid or your cigars will get torn up. my gauge is garbage, and I use a the tube style humidifying element with the cigars, but still have the foam for the cushion, since that space will never be filled with cigars in the lid.

It appears that I have a handful more 1120s coming in. Josh, did you ever have luck finding the innards? If not, and if there's interest, I can just use the same stuff as last time.

These should arrive late this week or early next. Let me know if you're interested and I'll build them out into humidors, pricing will remain the same.
