Those are quite a different design from Mattracks out of Minnesota. They run much closer to the ground, which lowers clearance for the undercarriage trying to get over snow depth. I would rather have the mattracks. the pics in that ebay add look like the cross members and diffs are pushing through that snow, and it's not that deep.

I personally think these Mattracks-style bolt-on track systems are interesting but not practical unless you are a well funded state or government agency.

Just think of the cost to replace the tracks on all four corners...

Ed...if you're looking for pratical, you should have stuck with the CRV! I don't think a Defender is necessarily pratical in any format unless you're running over things in the woods, pedestrians, or both. The tracks are however, "awesome", and that supercedes any practical discussion .
