Well looks like it's for sale again. This time by Atlantic British for a whopping $46.9 ... Takes some balls to say its a "California vehicle with no rust" when it spent the first 18 years of its life in New York and completely inaccurate mileage listed at 161k. Oh well.

"Never seen snow." Not in at least two to three years! Talk about false advertising. What else do they sell again?

Since when does AB sell cars? I'm wondering if this may be the owners car possibly and he's selling it off. Still doesn't explain or justify the ad discrepancies though.

Brad Ferri has it for sale - had the red 1997 (that they used for the best top install video) for sale last year as well.

X2. These asking prices are just that. I doubt much is moving at these multiples. We have to learn not to believe everything we read.

If by chance it sells for an asking price in this neighborhood you just have to assume the buyer was uneducated. There's a price to pay for being uneducated in life. You can assume Buyers that pay prices like this are also not plowing 100's of hours a year "educating" themselves on these trucks either.

Remember, you could have taken this sales approach, which would have been to steer clear of the boards and target wealthy uneducated buyers. But for perfectly good reason you didn't. Instead you priced to sell quickly and the market you targeted was an educated one, and there is nothing wrong with that.

Price isn't really the issue. Blatant Misrepresentation of vehicles history is shameful.

It's wild too because when the last owner had it Brad at Atlantic British called me to get the full rundown on the truck. I gave him the full history (which I know in detail because of a title issue it had that I think I've mentioned in another thread) and the sheer amount of hours spent under it. So he knows, just ignoring. And if you look at the carfax, I think the true mileage sits in the 200 some thousand at least. I totally expected it to be posted again for sale by them when I heard they bought it, I just expected a more honest representation from a rover community type person. Bummer.

Agreed. I get the whole "it's fine to make more money if I can" argument, but I don't like flippers exploiting the forum for personal gain. No idea how to combat it, other than by only selling to known entities (difficult at best) or not selling/hoarding.

Or calling them out when they blatantly lie.

Maybe they rebuilt it significantly? Regardless, blatantly lying about the history is jacked up. Even intentionally misleading, in my opinion, is just as bad. From an entity with as big a name I find that pretty terrible. I won't buy a part from them based off this. Which sucks because I preferred them more than other suppliers, at least before they merged. I haven't ordered anything from them sense that happened but I won't.

The guy who originally bought it from you also sucks. Didn't he have it for something ridiculous like less than a month before it was up for sale?

Totally, but I doubt that will change behavior if reasonable cash gain is involved with some lying/stretching/excluding info.

Surprised about AB. Seems like a cash grab, IMHO. Maybe there's some info we don't know about.

Obviously the wound that CS suffered when he sold his truck at a generous price only to see it repaired and flipped is still raw, open and painful.

Whether you got taken or allowed yourself to be taken, is no longer relevant. It happened and haunts you. Its a nightmare when the wound gets reopened every time it reappears on the market.

Why not pick up the phone and call Brad at AB? If I was Eric last thing I would want to get in the middle of is something like this.

Hey I'm not trying to stir the pot and I've certainly moved on. I shouldn't have sold it, but I did, oh well life moves on. I just get bummed when I see rover community members being sketchy to make a buck. If I can give a bit of the real story I will in hopes that the next owner will have an accurate picture of where it came from.

There is no way this has been "fully restored" ... Click image for larger version

That's all I've got. I'm not mad in the slightest, just hope the next owner googles the ViN and finds this post to learn more about the truck.
