This was the miata I drove for 6 months being de-murdered. The male nurse that I bought it from thought that some rustoleum flat black would improve his testosterone level. Unfortunately his buddy that helped him grabbed gloss black. The results were poor.

3 gallons of Paint thinner later, Brian (pictured) and I got it back to mostly red. It's now on the spec miata circuit, color unknown.

I think DRAaronR has a "murdered out" 84 Defender on eBay:

Bid on it Josh
I'll help you "un gay" it if you win.
I'm actually tempted to bid on it myself, leave it as is and wheel the hell out of it.

man I can't help it that they have horrible taste in the mod department across the pond. the one life live it stickers, 12 hood scoops and other tacky shit, I look for minimal rust and diesels. The rest of the crap is cosmetics. If you think the black ones are bad you should see the orange 90 I just got, has more stickers than a second rate nascar team.

That half cab isn't that bad really. Maybe a little much on the five bar. A little clean up of the cosmetic stuff is so minimal to someone who can see past that stuff.

Always had a thing for half cabs
if it was blue and lhd it would really get me thinking

well while you are doing the little cosmetic stuff you could paint it blue and move it over to LHD.

If I didn't have a defender already I probably would give it serious thought.

I actually think that matte black Range rover looks amazing. I would love to buy it if I could afford it. It has such a clean subtle look to it. And its unique as you don't see that look very often. Here in Orange County there are more range rovers with lame pimped out rims than there are Fords on the road, refreshing to see something different.

i think this trend will die out soon.. it kind of reminds me of what spinners were back in the early 2000s in terms of the weird mix of hoopties and lux rides that sport the look.

Wink

I think it just needs some turtle wax. That should do the trick.

Honestly I knew it was going to happen eventually.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/AUTOS...f97533d1#v4-39

Asking $63.9k. Looks like they took a Japanese Spec Defender and did all of this to it.

I am looking at it on my phone so I could be totally off but it looks cool. Weird they spent the time to put all the proper badges on after paint and new bolts yet they didn't paint the wheel center caps.

Or he's a fool and can't figure out how to paint them.
