MRE purge

I have 5+ cases (12 MREs ea) that I have 'horded' over the last couple years. They are cases 'A' and 'B'. I don't remember all of the "flavors" that they are but they are from the new menu. I prefer local pickup or RURR as they are in a hardigg case and duffle bag. $500 for the MREs and case or $400 for just the "food".

Are you sure that "purge" is exactly the right keyword for selling these things?

It's ok, regardless of that actual info rest assured DOD will extend them, perhaps Armyrover can chime in and give the D90 stamp of approval!

I couldn't tell you the dates, they are no longer in the original shipping box, and the individual packages don't have dates. They have been kept in ~70*.

We will only extend them generally 1 time for up to 6 months (unless combat conditions) when in original packaging. Without the dates on the cases and the TTI (red sticker on the case with the grey circle) we won't extended them at all. They get a certificate of destruction.

Standard shelf life is 3 years at 70ish degrees. I can go over the extension process if anyone is having trouble sleeping

I only have trouble sleeping when I eat MRE's...

I keep mine sub 75 for 5 to 7 years. Many "say" they will last 8 to 12 sub 70, but I wouldn't push that...

I have seen ones that were still safe to eat at the 9 year mark. A lot of the small items had gone bad though. The Tabasco chocolate etc were done.

10 years is the average shelf life for MREs. I found some from the late 80's early 90s. Yeah, MREs don't age well.
