Misleading ads bug anyone else?

Hate to see stuff like this.. Some unsuspecting buyer thinking they bought a defender only to learn they have a leaf sprung truck with a bad respray.

It should probably be listed as a Stage I V8, but you're right the Defender name on the front panel does not match the rest of the vehicle.
Ads like this can be reported to eBay, but it may not do any good.

Anyone who buys that is learning a valuable lesson in economics.

Reported... these annoy me to no end. Not only do I get calls daily asking about listings like this, but I get calls from people that buy these vehicles and they end up totally screwed.

At least it's not a Santana.

I sent the seller the following question - Why is this ad listed as a Defender when it clearly is no such thing? That is deliberate misrepresentation. Even using the subtitle of non-Defender is objectionable. You might as well have said non-Jeep or non-Toyota.

Goes to prove...Know what you are buying. It has says series all over it aside from the Defender sticker. The seller has only purchased four things and never sold anything. Sad misleading listing.

This eBay ad leaves much to be desired. But should we challenge anyone selling say a 1985 as a Defender when in reality it's just a 110?

Or a 1985 110 when it's clearly a vin swap late model puma truck ....

Coil sprung with tons of identical parts vs leaf sprung with far less matching. I don't mind when people call their 83-90 90/110/127 a Defender, it essentially is

I don't think anyone should be flagged unless they are being purposely misleading.

I think calling any LR Series or Defender a "Defender" on eBay is OK. I think that most people identify these trucks as "Defenders", and therefore will be searching/browsing by this term. The add should mention "Series" though if it is a Series.

From LR's website: "Land Rover celebrated 67 years of history today as the last of the current Defenders was produced at its famous Solihull production facility."

Take this one for example - Land Rover Defender Santana Station Wagon LHD 4x4 Diesel | eBay Should this one be flagged too?
