A BOB duece (hack off the third axle and use an M101 trailer as the bed like a pick up) would be a really cool rover hauler.

Those M101s are too big to pull behind a LR. The smaller trailers are better.

It's a long way up to the bed! I never had a chance to drive a deuce with an auto box, just the old ones from like the 60s. My unit had some real ferked up ones that were halfway rusted out.

Here's the link for military surplus in your area:

I've been bidding on a m101 here as well.

Ron you'd prolly want an M105 trailer bed instead of the smaller 101. 101s go behind a Chevy CUCV, 105s behind a Deuce. Two in fact. Cut the first just in front of the wheel well and use a section out of the second to lengthen the forward section. That said, you may want to do a bed treatment to one of these instead. You can use the winch behind the cab to pull your vehicles up a ramp. This one is in Richmond and is priced at $150, for now. Just don't plan on going much faster than 60.

All Govt Liquidation Auction's open with a min $150 opening bid. Its not "priced at" that-just the point that all auctions open @. Auctions usually run for three days. You cannot "sniper" bid a gov liquidation auction. If you bid in the last 15 mins of the auction it automatically extends the auction 15 mins to allow the previous bidder to re-bid. This thrust and parry can go on for hours after the posted auction ending.

I bought an M101A from GovLiq in July. Still waiting for the EUC to clear government approval, which takes at least 60 days.

Not too sure why people think they are too big for a D-90. They are 65.5 inches wide and the D-90 is 70.5 (right?), D-90 towing capacity is 3500lbs, the trailer is 1300lbs empty. The only issue is stopping!

I'm hoping to have mine in time for MAR....

Virginia must be more particular than Maryland. I'd just slap one of my "floating" trailer plates on it.

Bill, you referring to my post? The EUC is the End User Cert and is approved by the good 'ol US Goverment. I just have to prove I am not going to sell the trailer to Iran.

M101 canadian or m416 USA are a better size especially behind a 90. But, what do I know. Does that M101A have brakes?

I agree 100%. The M101A does not have surge brakes but they are a lot of cheap kits out there to convert it. I got the larger trailer for the drop down tailgate and for use around the property.

Yes, the purpose of the notification was not to offer a trailer solution for use behind a 90 or 110 on the trails. I was just pointing out the release of these DoD trailers as a cheap but well built every day hauling trailer. In my short military career, I used both m101 and M105 trailers. The 101 is just about a perfect size for homeowners as it is big enough to haul worthy loads but not so big you can't roll it around by yourself (empty of course)
I'm gonna try to get one for my own use, and I thought it was noteworthy that a bunch of non trashed 101 trailers were available. They look like the came right out of Tobyhana with all new everything including canvas and paint, even though they may have been originally made in the 1960s.

Both trailers have parking brakes. The M105 trailer has air hook up for use behind a Deuce.
