Well, I may be mistaken but I believe they drive RHD vehicles there.

It is indeed what we call Japan Spec. Same as a 97 NAS SW except for the market lights, seat material, font on rear plaque and odo originally in Kilometers.

Yea, it's been for sale for a month or two.

So for Japanese Spec it guarantees those aren't actual miles right as it came with a KM odometer. So it has 39K miles since odometer was swapped but no telling how many KM prior to.

If it was a real NAS truck I could see it fetching what they are asking. The questionable mileage is a real issue at that price point. it did not have the electric windows that some Japanese trucks do. It needs an intake manifold gasket and some power steering lines, looks to have a new alternator. It did have a ghetto blaster stereo installed with some sketchy wiring through the truck. Some ass hole installed a rear ladder and drilled holes through the body capping. No rust on this truck, and from the looks it hardly has that many miles on it, they had fixed the steering cowl. I did take a photo of the plaque on the brake booster. I believe it was bought initially at Land Rover Cary. I am sure they traded it on a new Range Rover. I am happy to look at it and take photos if anyone is interested. It did have a NRP catback exhaust.

Japanese NAS trucks come with a government export declaration which shows the mileages (kms) at certain dates in the trucks existence. Many trucks also come with original service books stamped by the dealer. Japanese inspections which are called "shaken" are one of the most comprehensive inspections in the world, and are very expensive!
If you buy a truck that has a valid "shaken" inspection you are getting a vehicle that will pass any North American inspection.

I have two of the Japanese NAS trucks and they are so clean underneath many of the original stickers and paint markings upon construction still are intact.

I also found the original build sheets which the factory puts in the back door behind the trim.

A couple of pictures are attached.

Was your truck at ECR? I could have sworn they found something like that in the past year.

Documentation of mileage definitely helps with some data points on mileage before odometers are swapped that's for sure but still have to overcome the simple fact of an odometer replacement and some mystery there. No doubt they are basically the same as a US intended NAS and a well maintained original one is something desirable always.

No, they are both in Canada and I imported one directly from Saudi Arabia 8 years ago and the other from Japan 2 years ago. The build sheet came from the recent truck and I was really surprised to find it too!! I haven't checked the other truck for the build sheet yet!

Wonder if that intake routing robs HP by 5% or more. Bet it does.

The lug pattern is the same and those are Masai panels in the rear.

I sent him a message suggesting that he disclose in the eBay listing that it's a Japanese truck and that the odometer is not accurate since it was replaced when imported since eBay requires sellers to accurately describe items. This was his response:

"Please back up what you are saying with some evidence, as this is a bold statement, I suggest you check carfax"

Incredible. So if I ran the carfax he'd probably tell me carfax is wrong lol.
