No offense to you Chad, but I think as a whole Defender Source needs to stop calling out questionable vehicles. I am not trying to condone illegal trucks or anything like that, but I believe we are creating more cause for concern on behalf of DHS/CBP by making examples like these known. It's one thing to post, "look at this 110 for sale", but another to write, "it's underage". I don't mean to be rude, I've just been seeing it a lot.

Agreed. And good for you Zack for being diplomatic about it. Nobody needs a beat down.

The only exceptions are if Bill Cocks or Charles Mogford are selling anything.
We shall call this "the Werewolf Rule"

No Offense, but that sounds to me like self censorship—which I believe is even worse than forced censorship....

Thank you Chad, for the laugh!

Thank you Defender Source for the open forum!

Thank you Zach, for sharing your opinion and hopefully for considering mine too!

Ahh where to begin...

- Not trying to out anyone. I think that if the policia is monitoring this site, then we can take the mental leap to expect that they also look at eBay and craigslist.
- this forum is an immense resource; often times a truck is posted for sale and over a few days you can reconstruct the entire history, who imported it, and who did major repairs. In this case I was thinking maybe someone here knew this truck, imported it, etc...
- the best part about this site is that it promotes doing the right (legal) thing and isn't a bunch of garage queen illegal rovers with old vin stamps.
- next time I'll just post unsightly pics that will make everyone happy!!
- onto the next

Actually we can't. The warrant for the last seized vehicles shows we are not dealing with the brightest bunch to work for the government. They need help and you are giving it to them.

Nobody on this site wants a narc. Seriously.

You talking about law enforcement or LRNA here?

Consider the alternative, if the govt folks were putting better people on this problem where would the community be?

I understand where you're coming from and didn't intend to be offensive or anything, but this is kind of my point.

There are loads of people who aren't getting the info they need in fear of being ousted on here. We should have a lot more threads on Td5/Tdci questions but people are afraid to ask them.

I realize you're not trying to get the person in trouble, perhaps you're even trying to warn a perspective buyer. I would just hate to be the owner of the vehicle and find it on a website being called out for legality.

I'm sorry if anyone doesn't agree with me, but based on the PMs I received I'm not alone on this thought.

I understand and agree, it is self-censorship. My reasoning is respect for fellow Rover owners. I would hate to see someone get a visit or a phone call because of something mentioned on here, when this site is really about helping each other and building the community.

I can never see wanting a 110, but subject to a respray to an alternate colour, this looks like a tasty vehicle to have.
I would want to know who did the engine rebuild to verify confidence in the quality.

Sorry I won't dare offend the delicate sensitivities of the Defender Source crowd again.
