Not the prettiest wheels, but they should fit over the big hubs on early defenders and with a coat of black paint they're not terrible.

These are so cool. If they were 16s I would buy them.

Wow! A new set. Pretty unusual. I haven't seen a set of those in 25 years or more. I think they sold for around that in the 70's.

There were two basic designs for white spoke wheels back then. The type where the spokes were welded directly to the wheel rim and the type were the spokes had an integral rim that was then welded to the wheel rim. The latter were generally considered better as the type with the spokes welded directly to the wheel rim would punch through upon occasion (probably not an issue for Land Rovers).
Some also had machined areas around the lugs so the center would deflect some when tightening the lug nuts, like OEM steel wheels do, so the lug nuts don't loosen. Others just had holes drilled/punched and you had to keep watch on your lug nuts.
I can't remember which type the Jackman were and I can't really tell from the photos.

Jackmans are the type that have the center welded to the rim. The center plate is very thick probably 1/4" or so. The lug holes are machined. Here is a close up pic of a lug hole on the set of J's I'm going to run on my 88" rig. I'm also a fan of old subarus so I just love these wheels.
